When the outside air temperature is below 65 degrees, you're probably going to wish you had a good pair of winter motorcycle gloves. Because at 60 miles per hour, 65 degrees has become 50 degrees. And your hands will get pretty stiff within 30 minutes of riding at 50 degrees.
Make sure that any winter gloves you purchase are waterproof. And for warmth, a layer of Thinsulate is a good idea as well.
A motorcycle glove should be the right size. Since you're using your hands all the time, gloves that are the wrong size can actually be unsafe. Gloves that are too big will start to wrap around the bar. Gloves that are too small will get uncomfortable and restrict the circulation in your fingers. So make sure you get the right size. A good test is that you should be able to make a fist without too much tightness across the back of your hand. |
